About Ryan

Ryan Dermody is an Operating Partner at Conqora Capital Partners, where he brings over two decades of leadership experience across transportation, energy, infrastructure, and national defense. Known for his ability to lead from the front and execute in complex environments, Ryan works closely with Conqora portfolio companies to drive performance, scale operations, and unlock long-term value.

He currently serves as Interim CEO of Hullo Ferries, steering one of Canada’s first high-speed passenger-only ferry services through a period of strategic growth and operational transformation. Prior to this, Ryan was President of Terminal Norcan, one of Canada’s largest fuel logistics companies, where he led expansion efforts and supply chain resilience during pandemic and geopolitical disruptions. He also served as Vice President at the Port of Montreal, overseeing the development of the multi-billion-dollar Contrecoeur port expansion.

Ryan began his career as a Warfare Officer in the Royal Navy, with operational deployments under NATO command and service on the staff of the First Sea Lord in Whitehall. His military background laid the foundation for his sharp operational judgment, crisis management, and team leadership.

He later held senior roles at Investissement Québec, where he led and structured strategic investments in infrastructure, logistics, and energy across both debt and equity portfolios.

He is a Canadian Ambassador for The REAL Mental Health Foundation and an advocate for integrated investment in brain and veteran health.

Ryan holds an MA in International Liaison and Communications and a BA in French Studies from the University of Westminster, an Associate of Science in Naval Science and Operational Studies from the University of Plymouth, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration (with Distinction) from The Open University.
